Big Doc will be such a film, entertaining while giving food for the heart and mind.
Set in a small southern town in 1933, Big Doc's Girl is a story about: - Pillaging of the weak by the powerful; - A family struggling to survive hard times; - A well-educated doctor who has given up opportunities for a successful city practice to help the down-and-out; - The heartbreak of parents who can't meet the needs of their children; - How young people are affected when their
dreams are crushed; - Coping with hardship and adversity, either to be defeated or to gain strength of character from them; - Choosing a life path and who is to accompany one on that path; - The power of community. - Finding significance in life. A major theme developed in the story is that a humanistic spirit is crucial to both social harmony and individual well being.
