Luminous Films Inc. Luminous Films Inc. is a privately held corporation engaged in the business of film development, production, and exploitation. The founder and president of the company is Beth Brickell. On an as-needed basis, Luminous Films contracts with producers, staff, crew members, and actors for individual projects, and draws on a support group of agents, attorneys, accountants, consultants, and advisors. The company's mission is to produce motion pictures that are uplifting. Luminous Films has produced six narrative films for national television networks, cable channels and the educational market. Three of the films, A Rainy Day, Summer's End, and Mr. Christmas, have won a total of 26 film festival and television awards, and have been broadcast on Showtime, A&E, Nickelodeon and PBS. The company currently has in development two motion picture projects. A screenplay written by Ms. Brickell, Big Doc, is an adaptation of Mary Medearis' New York Times best-selling novel, Big Doc's Girl. Big Doc won "Best Feature Screenplay" at the Los Angeles Moondance Film Festival in June, 2006. Disappearance is based on an unsolved mystery that Ms. Brickell investigated. She wrote an 18-article newspaper series about the case that appeared on the front page of the Pulitzer Prize winning Arkansas Gazette over a five-month period. The two movies are to be filmed in Arkansas. |
